I got my author copies of My Grandpa had a Stroke yesterday. Magination Press really DID do the book in about six months, just like they said they would. It’s hard to believe anyone can do a picture book that fast. (They had the manuscript for about a year and a half before they told me they wanted to publish it…after about a year, they told me they were interested in it, but it was another six months before I actually saw a contract, so maybe they were working on it some in there?)
It took me a while to work up the nerve to actually look at the book. This is the book I needed for my kids seven years ago. But I was afraid seeing the finished product was going to make me sad, and I didn’t want to be sad on Valentine’s Day. So I waited until the end of the day to look at it.
It’s beautiful! I couldn’t be happier with Nicole Wong’s illustrations.
The only problem is I didn’t realize I never did a dedication in this book! I meant to dedicate this one to my dad.
I can’t wait to see it.
And your dad… he’ll know. He knows.
What a nice thing to say…thanks.
I am so glad you are happy with your book!
Best of all literary success to you!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks. I really NEEDED to be happy with this book…and given the short production time, I was afraid I wouldn’t be. But I am!
