What IS normal, anyway? I’m not sure there is such a thing…especially during the summer. What I mean is, I’m done teaching…Preteen is done with classes…and my husband is starting to feel a little better and is back at work (though I have to drive him partway to meet up with some friends who will drive him the rest of the way since he won’t be able to drive for another five weeks). So all we have going this week is a couple of library activities, piano and cello lessons, dentist appointments, my mother’s visit, and…oh yeah…it’s tech week for Preteen’s play (did I really volunteer to run lights in addition to the ticket booth, which my husband may not up to doing with me???). You can visit here for the best dentist in the Eugene. Still, it’s a lot easier of a load than last week and I should finally be able to get some writing done.
I’ve got a script due for Benchmark’s Reader’s Theatre, and I still haven’t finished my proposal for my Monkey Man sequel. I had hoped to read chapter one of the sequel to my class last week (since a group of them saw a file labeled “Monkeymansequel” on my flash drive when I was pulling up an activity on the Smart Board). I had told them that on the last day, I would read from something I’m working on and let THEM critique ME before we had our publication party, and this group of girls REALLY wanted that “something” to be my monkey man sequel. I do actually have a chapter, but it’s not ready for anyone to hear or see yet. (So I ended up reading four chapters of I Am Anna Winkler, the story I read to Preteen’s sixth grade class all last year.)
Yup…TRYING to get back to normal…
