So, I heard back from the agent I just e-mailed a few days ago. Yes, already! Well, I didn’t hear back from HER…but I heard back from another agent in the same office. (For some reason her e-mail was in my SPAM folder! Good thing I check that now and then!) She wants to see samples/outline of I Am Anna Winkler! Yikes! The beginning isn’t bad…it will be better in the next revision, but it’s not bad…however, I’m a little concerned about my outline. Not that the outline is terrible…but now that I’ve completed a draft of the book, I know there are some big things that are going to be changing…
I haven’t heard anything from the other two agents yet. And I woke up in a panic yesterday morning, suddenly sure I had forgotten to put the SASEs in the envelopes. It’s possible…I almost forgot to pick up my dog at the groomer’s the other day…if my husband hadn’t IMed me when he did, I WOULD’VE forgotten. I’ve got a lot going on right now…Preteen is in our local children’s theatre production of Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe this weekend, so there have been long rehearsals every night this week…I’ve got these two middle grade proposals to work on…plus I’m getting ready for another school visit (well, no…technically, this is a “Reading Day”) in Columbia, MO early next week…and just general life stuff… So rather than wonder whether I put the SASEs in the first time, I just sent them again. Those two agents probably think I’m a space case, but at least I’m a conscientious space case.
Good luck with your agent search! I hope you hear good news soon 🙂
This is exciting! But I know what you mean about it being a busy time. For the past few years, I’ve felt like May is busier than the winter holidays. There’s just so much going on. I’ve been nuts!
(By the way, if you DID forget the SASE, which I doubt, the agents aren’t going to let that stand in the way of accepting you or not.) Hang in there!
Depending on how old your kids are, it IS busier than the winter holidays. Plus my mother and my youngest son have birthdays in May, too…so it’s kind of like “the holidays” on top of everything else.
this is SO WONDERFUL
everything crossed for you!
Thanks for the good luck wishes. We’ll see what happens. Things do have a way of working out the way they’re “supposed to.”
Good luck
on the agent search. Hope you have the pick of the lot to choose from and all three want you!
