I can’t take credit for finding this link on my own…http://mewing.net/badbook.shtml I found it on another children’s writer’s blog: http://kelcrocker.livejournal.com/ There was a link that said, “take the WHAT BAD BOOK ARE YOU test.” I clicked on the link and saw it was a short test, so what the heck? It turns out I am the Hobbit. The Hobbit??? Me???
Now, I know the Hobbit is a great book, not a “bad book.”. My sixth grade reading teacher told us it was a great book just before he read it to us. And since it was such a great book, and I knew I wanted to be an author when I grew up, I, of course, wanted to love this book. But I didn’t. I didn’t even like it most of the time. And now I AM the Hobbit. Hmm…I wonder what some of the other choices were?
I was Beowulf. 🙂
Now when I first read your comment I thought, “Why wasn’t *I* Beowulf? I should’ve been Beowulf!” I actually enjoyed Beowulf more than I enjoyed The Hobbit. But it’s not about which book I ENJOY, it’s about which book I AM…so once I took a good, honest look at myself, I decided given the two (and I understand Heart of Darkness is a third choice), I am definitely more The Hobbit than I am Beowulf. (Okay…I have probably read WAY too much into this little test.)
